Have you been running your business for a while with paper and pencil? Maybe you’re saying, “Word of mouth has worked for this long, why change now?” If you’ve had your business for a while and feel like you’re out of the digital loop, you probably find yourself in one of these two categories.
You don’t have anything online and you’re intimidated at the thought of making that “digital jump” and getting a website. You don’t want to be bothered with these new tools, you want to focus on the business you’ve been running for years. But if you don’t get something online, you’ll be overlooked by many of your potential customers. Your competitors will be found easier and will be more likely to get the calls that should be coming to you. Especially if you are a location based business, people need a way to find you. With close to all directory searches being done online rather than any offline method, if you’re not online, you basically don’t exist.
Maybe you even have a website and got on that online bandwagon a few years ago but your website is old, outdated, and nothing more than a digital brochure. It doesn’t show up good on mobile devices and ultimately just makes your company look like it’s very old. Even if you know you’re forward thinking, your website doesn’t really convey the same. Your customers are going to pass you by for the simple fact that it wasn’t easy to get in contact with you. With more than half of all web searches being done on mobile, you need to be optimized and responsive.
How do you make this “digital jump?”
I had the opportunity to work with a construction company that found themselves in this exact position. This company is one of my favorite clients, because, well, it’s my father’s company. 🙂 From the time I was a little kid, I watched my dad run his business and always seem to be doing fine. He worked with vendors and clients without a problem, and always seemed to find the next job when he needed it. In all this time, he never had a website or even did any marketing really. So what was the problem? Well, word of mouth can only carry you so far. The more time went on, and the more digital tools made things easier for the consumer, the bigger the gap became between my dad’s company and his potential clients. At some point, my father realized that something had to change or his business would get left behind. When he asked me to help his company take the “digital jump” they needed to take in order to grow the company and move things forward, I was, of course, thrilled. We worked through everything from re-branding, to a website, to email campaigns, and even collateral. Most importantly, we positioned Ciardi Co. consistently online and offline in the way that would best help their customers for their unique construction problems.
Part of staying relevant in business for years is the ability to recognize the changes in culture that will affect your business. I came to realize that a growing number of people were getting their information and resourcing digitally. Which means that my company was invisible to a growing number of people. Bobolink Creative helped us to update our logo, provide us with a very comprehensive easy to use website that showcases our projects and tells our story. We have been very pleased with the results and found Bobolink to be a company that listened to us and was able to effectively communicate who we are. We are design build renovation experts that help businesses transform their existing space.

What if your company could perform online the way you know it performs offline and leave your potential customers without a doubt of working with you?
